Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how GenZPolitics ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use genzpolitics.in or the GenZPolitics Android app, which is the same website presented as an installable app and processes data identically. See also our Terms and Conditions.

• Account information:email address, username, mobile number, password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text), date of birth (used solely to confirm you're 18 or older), display name.
• Profile information: bio, profile photo, and cover photo, if you choose to add them.
• Content you create: posts, comments, likes, group and Page memberships, and direct messages you send to other users.
• Usage information: standard web server logs (IP address, browser/device type, pages visited, timestamps) generated automatically by using the service.

To create and secure your account, operate core features (feed, groups, Pages, messaging, notifications), send transactional emails (such as password resets), enforce our Terms and moderate reported content, and comply with applicable law. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

We share data only where necessary to run the service: our email provider for transactional email delivery, and our hosting provider, which stores the application and its database. If analytics is enabled on the site (Google Analytics), Google processes aggregated usage data under its own privacy policy. We disclose data to law enforcement or government authorities only where legally required, such as under a valid court order or a lawful request under the Information Technology Act, 2000, and its rules.

We retain your account and content for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion by contacting us (see Section 8), we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), you have the right to access, correct, and request erasure of your personal data, and to withdraw consent, subject to the exceptions the Act allows. You may raise a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India if you are dissatisfied with how we handle your request.

GenZPolitics is not directed at, and does not knowingly collect personal data from, anyone under 18. Accounts we reasonably believe belong to someone under 18 may be suspended or terminated.

To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data — including full account deletion — email info@genzpolitics.in from the email address on your account. We aim to acknowledge requests within a reasonable period consistent with our Grievance Redressal Mechanism described in the Terms and Conditions.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), salted password hashing, and access controls on our infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in a new "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
